monacoPARIS, France  ●  Monaco remained on course for Champions League qualification with a thumping 4-1 win at home to Toulouse in Ligue 1.

Bernardo Silva put Monaco in front after nine minutes, but Martin Braithwaite equalised before the home side got a break on the stroke of half-time with a penalty award, and Anthony Martial tucked it away.

Joao Moutinho added a third early in the second half before Monaco’s Nabil Dirar and Toulouse’s Jean-Armel Kana-Biyik were both sent off 10 minutes from time for clashing, then Valere Germain completed the scoring for the hosts at the death.

PSG moved back into top spot thanks to first-half goals from Edinson Cavani and Blaise Matuidi as they won 2-0 at Nantes.

Cavani fired the visitors in front inside three minutes as he bundled home the rebound from a Zlatan Ibrahimovic shot.

Ibrahimovic then set up Matuidi just past the half-hour mark, finding the France international who smashed home to double the lead.

Laurent Blanc’s men go three points clear of Lyon with just three games left to play.

Lens’ relegation from Ligue 1 was confirmed after they lost 3-1 to local rivals Lille.

Pablo Chivarra fired the visitors in front, but Rene Girard’s men were level at the break thanks to Sofiane Boufal’s equaliser from the penalty spot, before Djibril Sidibe and Divock Origi secured the points for the hosts.

The defeat leaves Lens 12 points from safety at the bottom of the table, with just three games remaining, confirming their drop from the top flight.
